On April 2, 2004 my cat died. She had declined at an alarmingly fast rate, and I was planning to take her in to the vet's to be put to sleep. But suddenly she lapsed and gave her last breath while being cradled in my arms. Several moments after that, having regained my composure, I called my parents. So I've been thinking alot about Iraq, war, and the middle east conflicts. And I've been thinking alot about what can be done to promote peace. I mean true peace, not just a break between the fighting. How to deal with the passions each man, or woman, has about what he or she believes. For some reason, we all seem naturally disposed toward certain types of viewpoints, especially regarding religion and politics.

Fighting this reality would seem to be a fruitless endeavor.

Well, here I am doing a blog. What motivates me? Grief mostly, and the realization that I must speak out about what is most important to me.
